If you're a group member,
you've seen the new eBay Groups format. It can be strange to find you way
around, when you're used to looking at the page in a certain format. There
are a bunch of new features!
You may also notice that
the boards are experiencing quite a few bugs, such as having to log-in
repeatedly. If you are a group leader or moderator, you can log onto the
group "Bug Patrol" as well as 2 other groups, designed to report problems.
You can find the groups bug page here: http://groups.ebay.com/index.jspa?categoryID=1&redirected=1&_trksid=m37
Many have experienced
problems posting replies to threads. It is a good idea to copy your reply
or post before submitting it. If it is blanked out, or you are re-directed
to another login page, and lose your post, you will be able to paste it back in,
instead of having to re-type it.
One of the most notable
differences is this silhouette you are forced to have next to your name.
This orange silhouette will display unless you upload a photo or graphic to
replace it. eBay has noted that eventually,
In the left column, click
on "My Profile" and you will find a list of options: Profile, Groups,
Tags, Subscriptions, Messages, Topics and Preferences.
Under Preferences, you
can adjust your settings, such as your thumbnail photo, how many topics display
per page, how you are notified of replies, and in what order you read
messages. eBay has posted the following message under preferences
regarding your thumbnail photo:
"Be advised: Within a few
months, Groups will automatically load your eBay MyWorld image here. In the
meantime, we recommend you upload the same image in Groups as you have in
MyWorld. To visit your MyWorld page and upload your image, click here. Please note, at this time
you will still need to upload images for Groups and MyWorld separately. In the
future, you will only need to perform this process once."
If you haven't taken a
look yet, log into eBay Groups and see what's new!
