Another fraudulent eBay listing special email is making the
rounds, again. It offers a button to sign-up for one-cent listing special
on auction-style and store listings. The email even features a photo of
Bill Cobb. It looks identical to the eBay Announcement
page.
If you received this email, and clicked on the link and signed in to the
bogus special page or your eBay account, you should change you eBay password,
and monitor your account for suspicious activity, such as unauthorized
bids.
You can check your own bidding history, by clicking on the Advanced
Search tab, and searching under your user name. Be sure to put a check
mark in the box for the bids where the user is not the high bidder, as well
as completed items.
Remember, check the eBay Announcements page or your "My Messages" within
"My eBay" to view emails from eBay. Don't trust the links in emails that
arrive in your Inbox! Be safe and view them from within your eBay account,
by typing in www.ebay.com, rather than using a
link from the email.
