eBay Australia is lifting the requirement that a new
seller have 5 or more feedbacks in order to offer a fixed-price Buy It Now
item. (Please see the chart outlining the different between Auction with
Buy It Now and Buy It Now only.) They are testing this new policy, and
restrictions apply. Please refer to the official announement:
Today we are announcing that eBay.com.au will be trialing removing the
feedback requirements for listing items in the fixed price Buy It Now format.
The current policy requires members to have feedback of 5 or more in order to
list items using Buy it Now. During the trial we will allow Australian
registered sellers to list items in fixed price format with the only condition
being the item can be listed as available to Australia only, not worldwide.
We are interested in your feedback on this and you are welcome to post your
thoughts to the Round Table discussion board.
Regards,
The eBay Team
| Auction with a Buy It Now feature |
Buy It Now only (no bidding) |
When you add a Buy It Now feature to your auction
-
Buyers will have the option to buy your item instantly OR place a bid on your auction.
-
The Buy It Now feature will only be available when there are no bids on the item or until the reserve price
is met (if applicable). As soon as a bid is placed (or the reserve price
is met), the Buy It Now feature disappears and your item will
sell via auction.
-
You can sell only one item per listing.
-
The fee is 10 cents per listing. |
When you list an item at a set price
-
Buyers purchase your item immediately at the price you set.
-
The Buy It Now feature will not disappear.
-
You can sell more than one item at the same time - saving you time
and money!
-
There is no additional charge. |
