A new eBay spoof email is making the rounds. I have already received it five times this evening! The subject of the email is "Password Change Required" and tells you that someone has tried logging into your eBay account and multiple password failures occurred.
The spoof email then advises you to change your password and if you do not do so by a certain date eBay will suspend your account indefinitely. You are then directed to click a link to change your password. This link goes to a realistic looking eBay page.
DO NOT CLICK THE LINK IN THE EMAIL! IT GOES TO A FAKE EBAY
SITE!
Forward the email to spoof@ebay.com and then promptly delete it.
If you are truly concerned that you need to change your eBay password you should directly to the eBay site by typing in http://www.ebay.com in your browser.
This is sound advice for anytime you recieve an email that looks like it is from eBay and says something bad has happened or will happen if you do not perform a certain action. Do not ever click the link in these eBay emails, 99.99% of the time they are fake!
