eBay gives you a place to read their emails where you can be certain the message is not a spoof or phished email.  The messages you receive in My Messages, directly from eBay, are not fake (spoof) emails.   And that's not all you'll find in your "My Messages."  Have you looked in there lately?

You can find your "My Messages" in your "My eBay."  If you're signed in, you can reach your "My Messages" from "My eBay at A Glance."  That's the blue box on the eBay homepage at the top right of your monitor.  Also, members can go directly to messages.ebay.com.

Remember - if it affects your eBay account, it's in My Messages!

If you receive an email about your eBay account or requests personal information, and it's not in My Messages, it's a fake. Please report fake emails to eBay immediately by forwarding them to
spoof@ebay.com. Do not click on any links!  Immediately forward it to spoof@eBay.com.  They will tell you if it's real!  DO NOT CLICK on the links or fill-in ANY personal information.

Also, My Messages is a convenient way to communicate with your trading partners - only eBay and eBay members can send messages.

My Messages provides you with:
  • Important alerts about your account that require immediate attention
  • Member-to-member communications - receive and respond to messages sent via Ask a Question, Contact eBay Member, Second Chance Offer, etc.
