eBay is trying to make it more and more attractive to have an eBay Store. Free management tools, better search exposure, and you can try it for free. Even if you don't have an immense inventory and only use "auction" or "fixed price" listing formats, there are some perks to having an eBay store.

You can organize your inventory for your customers to find it better. An eBay store comes with categories that you can customize, and separate your inventory into. There's a search box, attached only to your inventory, so your customers can find exactly what they're looking for.

Maybe you sell women's clothing, kid's clothing, and maternity clothing and maternity supplies. Instead of mish-moshing them all together in pages of lists, your customers can go to your store, and click on the category and find all maternity clothes. You can get as detailed as you want, or leave the categories general. (In the Sell Your Item (SYI) form, it's just a checkbox click to include your item in a custom category. If there's nothing in the category, it won't show....great for items you don't always carry.

Instead of having slow-moving items just sitting there while you list and relist them, throw them into your store inventory. It's only 2 cents every 30 days to list a Good 'til Cancelled item. Let that slow-mover sit in your eBay store. If someone finds it, more money for you! If not, it only costs a few cents to list it.

(Note: The store insertion fee covers any quantity of items with a single listing, whether you list 1 or 1, 000 of the same item. The insertion fees vary based on the duration of your listing, not on quantity.)

Store referral credits really can add up. eBay gives you a fee refund if the item is bought through a link with a special code at the end. Read carefully how to use the codes, and give using the Referral Credit Enhancement a try.

You also receive the capability to send a pre-made newsletter to your customers, if they opt-in to your list.

If you upgrade to the Featured Store level, you get $90 per quarter FREE in eBay Keywords which offsets the price of the upgraded level.

eBay is also throwing in Selling Manager for free, too (see official announcement below).

What do you have to loose when you can try if FREE for 30 days!?

"Hi.I'm back again. This is Chris Tsakalakis, Senior Director of eBay Stores. When I told you in February how we were adding more value to eBay Stores, I promised that all members with a Basic Store subscription would soon also receive Selling Manager for free. I am pleased to announce that this has now gone into effect.

Selling Manager [http://pages.ebay.com/selling_manager/?ssPageName=CMDV:AB] (a $4.99 per month value) is eBay's online sales management tool that enables you to track your sales and manage post-sales processes, like email and feedback, in bulk. If you already have a subscription to a Basic eBay Store or are going to open one soon, simply subscribe to Selling Manager on the same eBay country site where you opened your eBay Store.

Basic eBay Store sellers who already have Selling Manager will begin seeing the free Selling Manager subscription on your next invoice automatically. You will not be charged for Selling Manager as long as you maintain your Basic eBay Store.

Also, for the last few months, the eBay Stores team has been talking to Store sellers about our Store Referral Credit program. Based on your feedback, I am pleased to announce we have made two changes to this program.

1) Many of you have told us that using email to send buyers links to your eBay Store and Store Inventory items is an important way to promote your business. To make sure you can always get the credit when emailing links, we have expanded the Store Referral program to give sellers more flexibility. Now you can receive the credit regardless of which email client your buyers use (previously, only web-based email programs could qualify). Just remember to always use properly formatted email links, including the refid=stores tag, when emailing your buyers in order to qualify for the Store Referral Credit.

2) In addition, if you use a customized domain name (such as www.yourstorenamehere.com) to point buyers to your eBay Store, you will be able to consistently qualify for the Store Referral Credit when you use the refid=stores tag correctly.

Thank you for having an eBay Store!"

Regards,

Chris Tsakalakis
