EBay has started offering new and improved selling tools and features to help you do just that! And some of the oldies but goodies still are as good as gold. Don't be afraid to try them, you just might love them AND save money while making money!

SUBTITLE

For an additional .50, you can add a subtitle to your auction title. This is precious space right below your title, and that wording is found when a potential buyer does a 'title and description' search (not on just a 'title' search).

EBay says that," On average, listings showing Subtitle in search results are 18% more likely to sell."

This is one way to make your auction stand out and extend the important details that would not fit into the title. As with your title, you want to pack your subtitle full of the most important key & descriptive words to make it pay off! This will help differentiate your auction from all the others.

There are many "Spring Lots" listed now, but how can you make yours (or any auction) more interesting at just a glance?

For example: What NOT to do!

Title: Gymboree and more nice boy's big lot clothes cute L@@K!
Subtitle: many cute used baby boy's outfits!

For example: What TO do!

Title: 65pc Boys 3-6 Spring Lot Gymboree Baby Gap Janie & Jack
Subtitle: Some NWT~17 Mix/Match Outfits~Shoes~Sox~Hats~Blanket! -OR --Subtitle: Free Ship with Buy It Now+BONUS~A complete wardrobe!

You want to distinguish your Lot from all the others. Subtitles are also great for listing the lines if, for example, it is an all Gymboree lot. For your bigger or more specialty auctions, I think you will be glad you used this feature.

GALLERY

While the Gallery feature is not new, it is improved! For .35 you get a bigger gallery picture with your listing. While your title is very important, your perfect picture can sell your lot without a word. Pick out the best picture you have within your auction and use it as your gallery picture.

With so many more people selling on eBay these days, I fully believe you must use the gallery feature to give your auction that special extra something. The clothes themselves will catch the buyer's eye quicker than the words of the title. I think all seasoned sellers will agree that a gallery picture is a must for a more successful auction. There is also a Gallery Plus option that allows a potential buyer to enlarge your gallery picture before even clicking on your auction!

LISTING DESIGNER

For those of you who do not want to spend time or money on fancy auction templates, for only .10 you can choose between many pre-designed templates to give your auction a little bit of added color and to even tie in a theme.

EBay says that, "You can improve the visual appeal and effectiveness of your listing by adding attractive themes and layouts. The Listing Designer feature will enable you to create a professional look and feel to your listing without knowing HTML."

This is a time saver for those who want to add a little something to their auction without going the template route. You CAN use html in your listing designer if you know it, just like any other auction.

VALUE PACK

EBay now offers a discount on using the above 3 listing upgrades. Separately you would spend .95 per auction (and we all know that adds up quickly!) for the 3 features. But if you choose the Value Pack upgrade, you will get these 3 features (Subtitle, Gallery <not Gallery Plus> and Listing Designer) for only .65 per auction, a savings of .30 per auction. It all adds up!

It only takes one more person to notice your upgrades and place a bid, and your Value Pack is paid for! While I do use templates in my auctions, I still use the value pack and just uncheck the listing designer option. So I still have a savings of .20 per auction and I firmly believe that incorporating a subtitle and gallery photo with my auction listing helps my auctions get more attention and produce better sales.
