eBay UK offered a
free subtitle listing special and when sellers used it on their Good ‘Til
Cancelled (GTC) listings, they were unable to cancel the subtitle. If
certain requirements are met, eBay UK is refunding the subtitle fee from those
renewed listings. Please read the announcement carefully:
We'd like to update
the announcement 'Free Subtitle' originally posted on 22nd December 2008 (see
below).
Unfortunately sellers
won't be able to remove the subtitle feature from live Good ‘Til
Cancelled listings from 8th January 2009 onwards as previously announced. This
will now only be possible from Tuesday 3rd February 2009 onwards.
We will extend the
subtitle renewal fee refund period from 1st January – 9th February 2009
(inclusive) for sellers who took advantage of the subtitle promotion.
If you have a Good
‘Til Cancelled listing with a renewal date after 9th February 2009, you
will need to remove the subtitle feature from the listing before 9th February
2009 if you do not wish to be charged for this feature.
Sellers must still
meet any of the previously mentioned requirements in order to qualify for a
refund.

During
December we ran a free subtitle promotion. Some of our feature and anchor
shop sellers took advantage of this promotion and added a subtitle to their
GTC listings. Due to system constraints sellers are not able to remove the
subtitle feature from live GTC listings. However, this functionality will be
available from 8th January 2009 We
would therefore like to advise sellers who took advantage of the subtitle
promotion that we will refund any subtitle renewal fee incurred between 1st -
15th January 2009 (inclusive) for sellers who created: a new Good ‘Till Cancelled listing with
subtitle feature enabled in December or added a subtitle to an existing Good
‘Till Cancelled listing in December From
8th January 2009 sellers will be able to revise their live multi-quantity
listings with a sale and remove the subtitle feature without having to cancel
the listing. For
Good ‘Till Cancelled listings with a renewal date after 15th January
2009, the subtitle feature will need to be removed from the listing prior to
